Whickham Fellside YFC started with just one youth team in 1980. Completely run by volunteers, the club has grown to around 18 teams covering under 7's to under 16's.

This years' under 9's have won the local league for the last two years and are currently in a very strong position to do it again this year. We have entered a series of tournaments over the years with varying success, usually making semi finals stage as a minimum. Winning The Grasshoppers tournament near York was probably our greatest acheivement, as it is a very big competition with teams entered from all over the UK. That of course, was until last year, when we competed for the first time in the Copa de Marbella at the under 8's level. The whole experience of being involved in such a well run and prestigious tournament was simply fantastic. To then go on and win the tournament with such stiff competition as Mossley Hills' side from Liverpool being involved, was just incredible. That trip will live in the memories of all of my players for the rest of their lives. Playing below the age group this year will take a lot of pressure off our team, and we simply intend to enjoy the experience and do the best that we can at the under 10's level.
